Sandfire Resources (ASX:SFR) said assay results from its ongoing drilling program at the MATSA mining hub in Spain confirmed new mineralized extensions at both Magdalena and Aguas Teñidas
The firm completed 68 near-mine and resource extension exploration drill holes across the prospects between Oct. 25, 2024, and April 11. Significant assay results were confirmed in 36 of 68 holes, including an intercept of 5.5 meters at 2.9% grade of copper, 0.1% grade of zinc, 0.1% grade of lead, 2 grams per tonne grade of gold, and 11.6 g/t grade of silver from 517 meters at Magdalena, as well as 13.9 meters at 1.3% grade of copper, 8% grade of zinc, 2.1% grade of lead, 0.7 g/t grade of gold, and 45.3 g/t grade of silver from 189.2 meters at Aguas Teñidas.
Chief Executive Brendan Harris said that the results confirmed that mineralization extends beyond the current mine plan in high-priority target areas.
It will continue to focus on its high-priority targets that have the potential to deliver both tonnage and grade at Magdalena. It is also planning an exploration drive to support targeted drilling of the Masa 2 West target.
