What Is Sand Washing Machine?
Sand washing machine is a type of mechanical equipment that removes impurities from the surface of sand and gravel through water washing. It is extensively utilized in the sand and gravel processing stages across industries such as construction, mining, concrete mixing plants, and water conservancy and hydropower.
Sand washing machine’s core function is to remove soil, dust, and impurities from the surface of sand and gravel through the synergistic effect of water flow and mechanical motion, thereby enhancing the cleanliness and grading quality of the sand material.
Main Types and Working Principles
Wheel Sand Washing Machine
Driven by an electric motor, a reducer rotates the impeller slowly in the water tank. The sand and gravel rub against each other under the rolling and stirring action of the impeller, with impurities being discharged through the overflow port along with the water flow, while the clean sand is carried out by the impeller blades.
Its advantages include minimal fine sand loss, high cleaning efficiency, and an isolated transmission system from water, resulting in a low failure rate.
Wheel sand washing machine is suitable for washing medium and fine sand. Common models include XSD2610 and XSD3016, with a processing capacity ranging from 20 to 120 t/h and a power requirement of 7.5 to 22 kW.
Spiral Sand Washing Machine
The spiral blades, installed at an incline, rotate in the water tank, propelling the sand and gravel forward while simultaneously washing and dewatering them under the scouring action of the water flow.
Spiral sand washing machine features a simple structure and easy maintenance, suitable for processing materials with particle sizes ranging from 0 to 30 mm. However, its fine sand recovery rate is slightly lower than that of the wheel-type model.
A typical model is the LX0920, with a processing capacity of 30-60 t/h and a motor power of 15 kW.
Rotary Trommel Scrubber
Utilizing a rotating cylindrical drum, the material tumbles and collides inside the drum, combined with high-pressure spraying for cleaning.
Rotary trommel scrubber is suitable for processing stone materials with high mud content and large particle sizes. Although it consumes a relatively large amount of water, its processing capacity can reach 200 to 300 t/h.
