India’s finest zinc-lead deposit is located at Rampura Agucha Mines (RAM), which is tucked away in the mineral-rich Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. Currently, underground operations at Rampura Agucha Mine (RAM) produce ore at a rate of 4.8 Mtpa. Infrastructure is being scaled, and manufacturing capacity is being further increased. Shaft partitioning for parallel hoisting was one of the important debottlenecking measures that raised the shaft hoisting capacity from 8,500 TPD to 10,000 TPD during FY 2024–2025. There are plans to reach an 11,500 TPD capacity.
The subterranean commissioning of a 20,000 m3/day Life of Mine Sump (LOMP) has greatly improved water management capacities. To enhance subterranean conditions, ventilation capacity has been increased to 2024 m3/sec, and a 400 Cum/sec Mine Refrigeration System is also planned.
Through programs like equipment tracking, collision prevention systems, tele-remote equipment operation, and real-time process and service monitoring driven by a central control room, Rampura Agucha Mine is also progressing its digital transformation path.
Rampura Agucha Mine is renowned for its outstanding infrastructure, effective operations, proactive community involvement, dedication to environmental sustainability, high safety standards, technological innovation, and capable leadership, making it a model for underground mining excellence.
A 4,000 KLD water treatment plant was put into service by Rampura Agucha Mine in FY 2025, marking a significant advancement in operational effectiveness and prudent water management. The goal of this project is to increase Rampura Agucha Mine’s net water positive to 5.5 times while consuming less freshwater.
