In underground mining, one of the main challenges with surface hole construction is cementing open-ended holes. Traditional cementing methods rely on the hole bottom to act as a base for the cement, but when a hole doesn’t have a bottom, this approach simply doesn’t work.
The One Shot Cementing System provides a practical solution. It uses an inflatable packer to create a temporary base inside the hole, allowing cement to be placed effectively above it. Both packer inflation and cementing are performed in a single-stage operation using one running tool, simplifying the process and reducing operational time.
This system has already been successfully deployed in multiple underground mines, demonstrating its ability to deliver secure, efficient, and repeatable results where conventional methods fall short. The One Shot Cementing System is currently available for casing sizes up to 20 inches, with larger sizes now in development.
