Beneficiation equipment is the machinery used in mineral processing to separate valuable minerals from the waste material (gangue) in ore. This equipment enhances the economic value of the ore by increasing the concentration of the desired minerals.
- Crushing and grinding equipment: They are used to reduce the ore to smaller sizes. Example include: Cone crushers, Gyratory crushers, Jaw crushers, SAG mill grinders, Rod mill grinders, Ball mill grinders and Pebble crushers.
- Sizing and classification equipment : They are used to arrange ground or crushed according to their size. Examples include: Bar screens, Banana screens, Fine screens, Flip flop screens, Grizzlies, Multi-deck screens, Radial sieves.
- Concentration equipment : They play a crucial role in separating and purifying substances by exploiting differences in their physical or chemical properties, particularly those related to volatility, density, or solubility. Examples include : Cleaners, Recleaners, Roughers, Scavengers
- Dewatering equipment : They are used to dry wet ores for better manipulation. Examples include: Dewatering screens, Thickeners/clarifiers, Belt press/membrane filter, press Fluidised, beds Hearth, dryers Rotary, dryer Rotary tray, dryers pray(Essential Guide to Mineral Processing & Equipment, n.d.).
