By continuously analyzing environmental conditions, equipment performance, and real-time operational data, AI systems can detect anomalies and predict potential hazards well before they escalate into serious incidents.
This proactive, data-driven approach not only reduces the likelihood of accidents and unplanned downtime but also supports faster emergency response, enhances worker awareness through smart alerts, and enables remote or autonomous operations in high-risk areas—ultimately creating a safer, more resilient working environment for all personnel(Kock, 2025).

In mining operations, autonomous haul trucks and AI-driven process optimization are delivering productivity gains of around 15–25%, as demonstrated by deployments at companies like Rio Tinto and Freeport-McMoRan(Hauge, n.d.).
