    Drilling the ore body to determine the thickness  is key ,than after receiving assay, you need to calculate de gold grade, than you can back calculate the average grade.
    Strong block model is the excellent tool to determine the grade. You also need need to understand the structure around the vein. Once you started developing trough the ore, you need to crosscheck it on daily basis and conduct regular sampling of active faces and make sure you are getting assay results quickly to adjust the development. Hence advanced drilling is key to position you ore development.
