Geometallurgy plays a critical role in long-term mine planning and processing optimization by integrating geological, metallurgical, and mining data to create predictive models that account for the spatial variability of ore properties. This approach improves decision-making across the mine life cycle by enabling more accurate forecasting of throughput, recovery rates, processing behavior, and costs, ultimately enhancing economic, environmental, and operational outcomes.​

Role in long-term mine planning

Geometallurgy allows for early detection of variability in ore and its metallurgical properties, thereby helping to prevent problems in future mine development.
